Experience The Beauty & History of Scotland in Style

This superb 7-day tour by road and sea takes in the magnificence of the Central Highlands and the rugged Western coastline, location of the fictional ancestral home of James Bond – ‘Skyfall’.  The mainland landscape of lochs and glens make the perfect backdrop to the grand historic houses and castles that are a feature of the area, whilst the dramatic scenery of the islands are ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.

Starting and ending in Glasgow, Scotland’s capital and European City of Culture in 1990, this tour has something for everyone. Movie buffs can immerse themselves in locations made famous on screen, for nature lovers there is scenery to die for, gastronomic experiences that would impress Bond himself, who was the epitome of style and sophistication. Those with an interest in the area’s rich history will find it at every turn, and places you may have heard or read about will come to life on a journey that will remain in the memory for many years.

There is only one word that can describe the scenery that awaits you in this most northerly part of the British Isles – stunning! Soaring cliffs, crashing waves and delightfully quiet beaches come in equal measure along the hundreds of miles of coastline. Throw in the beautiful, tree covered glens and the serene atmosphere along the many lochs and you have a destination that can amaze and satisfy every travellers’ wish.

All Livingstone’s UK & Ireland Heritage Tours, Holidays and Breaks have very carefully planned itineraries for escorted groups of 4-12 adults who are likeminded discerning travellers.  Similar Family and Friends’ tours and self-drive  itineraries are also available on request. The transport and accommodation are unquestionably luxury, but some locations and certain experiences may leave us with no alternative but to accept the best options available.

Even though each tour packs a lot in, they are  at an unhurried pace offering ample opportunity to take-in the amazing sights, sounds and culture in the regions of the selected tour or break. Where a stop-over of more than one night occurs, clients can spend the second day under their own arrangements –  if they so choose.

Every tour includes a “meeting point” and Meet & Greet service which  is included in the cost of every Livingstone’s UK & Ireland Heritage escorted tour and break. Some “meeting points” will be the first-night hotel or resort but where there is planned departure by air, rail or ferry it will be a suitable nearby venue.

Should clients require, air, rail, coach, taxi or private hire transportation to the “meeting point” these arrangements can  be made through our  Livingstone’s Travel World operation. We offer a one-stop travel service that includes travel insurance but clients are under no obligation to use this service!
