This stunning four star hotel is an impressive 18th century country manor house which will transport you into a world of luxury and leisure, yet is just five miles from the city of Leeds. It provides the perfect location for a truly enchanting Christmas break that can be taken over 2 or 3 days, full of eating, drinking and being merry. With over 300 acres of landscaped gardens, a fitness centre with pool and its own g27-hole golf course, there are plenty of other diversions too.
Arriving on Christmas Eve you immediately get into the seasonal spirit with a glass of mulled wine followed by Afternoon Tea. You have plenty of time to get settled into your superbly appointed room or suite or perhaps take advantage of the excellent amenities at the hotel or the delightful landscaped gardens before Carols in the Great Hall followed by a sumptuous 4-course dinner. Round out the day with Midnight Mass at a local church and indulge in a nightcap in the Champagne Bar to welcome in the great day itself.
Christmas Day is when the festivities really begin with a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings in the Calverley Grill followed by the Queen’s speech in the bar. In the evening there are Christmas movies or a festive quiz to keep the seasonal atmosphere going. It is well worth staying for Boxing Day and attending the Black Tie Gala Dinner, complete with a delicious meal, band and DJ, for the ideal end to this wonderful experience.
